Democratisation and Good Governance

Building open, responsive, and accountable institutions and processes were our key strategies to serving the needs and preferences of the public. Participation and inclusion to ensure that all have the opportunity to participate and have a voice in how they will be governed was also our slogan during at times when we implemented Democratic, leadership, and governance programmes.

Youth empowerment

As part of our initiatives and organizational policies, we implemented a number of youth empowerment projects, including - Skills Training and Youth Employment, which targeted out of school teenagers from most disadvantaged families in Puntland. In these efforts, we reached 7200 youth, who have limited or no access to formal schooling.

Livelihood & Food Security programs

Our organization implemented a number of livelihood and food security projects. With these projects, we have reached 5600 Beneficiaries, with whom some of them were provided employable skills for the purpose of transforming their livelihood and socio-economic status positively. These same beneficiaries were also supported with food voucher entitlements.

Promoting and empowering women in political participation

Our organization conducted awareness raising campaigns and advocacy forums for women to enable them to understand their untouchable rights for equal political participation. We organized debates on this agenda where men and women were both engaged to create an inclusive environment for equal political participation.

Peace & conflict prevention

Since Somalia is a post conflict country, where it is necessary to focus on peace, security and conflict, prevention, we conducted peace building activities, meetings for conflict prevention, and resolution attended by a variety segments of the community including women, Youth, traditional chiefs and Elders, representatives from Government authorities.

Promoting gender equality

Promoting Gender equality was key and always at the heart of all our programming areas. This being whenever we are to target beneficiaries for any kind of support, we usually apply for 50-50 representation of both genders. So, this was key part of our programme from all aspects and occasions.
