Puntland Youth Experts Technical Assistance (PYETA) is a non-profit making, non-partisan, nonpolitical organization that serves the needs of Puntland people and Somalia. PYETA was founded in 2010 by a group of professionals and other community activists who are concern the wellbeing of Somali people who have been affected the conflict and other natural disasters including drought, flooding, etc. PYETA focuses on supporting the poor, the oppressed and vulnerable communities, especially women and children. PYETA is committed to supporting sustainable development programs through organizing local community groups such as women and youth at the grassroots levels and supporting them.
Since the collapse of previous government, very little has been done to address the deterioration of most essential public services such as health, education, water, sanitation, etc. The founders also realized that there was a wide gender disparity in the Somali society which needed urgent attention corrective measure. PYETA is officially registered in Puntland and the head office is in Galkaio, Puntland State of Somalia. And branch offices are in Garowe and Galdogob, Puntland.
